The Lodge & Cottage

We have designed our lodge as your home away from home. Comfortable, safe and social.

The Lodgings

Our lodgings are as you would expect in a motel environment, clean, cozy and tastefully presented. For those cooler nights there is a log fire in the lounge. The Lodge has four good sized bedrooms. Three rooms have a queen and single bed and one room has two king singles

Safety & Security

Whilst our property is quite a distance from the main roads, we have a fully fenced property so your belonging are safe when left in the lodge.

Room Servicing

Both the Lodge and Cottage are fully supplied with linen and serviced everyday.

Facilities

All rooms have adjoining bathrooms. There are heat pumps (HVAC) in all rooms and electric blankets on all beds.

Catering

The Lodge is completely self contained with a modern, fully equiped kitchen, dining area and lounge all in an open plan layout.

Local Activities

The Mackenzie basin is an area of many attractions with a wide range of things to do and see.

  • Three ski fields within a 45min drive at Foxes Peak, Roundhill and Dobson.

  • Hot pools, ice skating rinks and massages.

  • Visit the iconic Lake Tekapo and The Church of the Good Shepherd, one of the most photographed sites in New Zealand.

  • Visit Lake Pukaki you can see Mount Cook, New Zealand’s highest Mountain.

  • Take a drive up the west side of the lake to Mount Cook National Park village where you can enjoy the most spectacular scenery.

Hunting in the area

Within the area, you can hunt red & fallow deer, tahr, chamois and Awapara sheep, there is also trout and salmon fishing.

The Social Room

The Ribbonwood Station social hub of the lodge which is where we hold our daily health and safety gatherings and of course where we tell the tales of the day after the hunt. There is access to the lodge's kitchen to make a cuppa or grab an ice cold beer. There is plenty of space and access to the outdoors on both sides of the room. It's the perfect space to chill after a big day in the mountains.
